I don't really think keeping score or anything in the youth leagues really matters, I personally don't think any of them care or that it makes the least bit of difference.

a certain age kids probably do not care. Id say from 3rd grade on kids begin to realize scores. I remember way back when i played tball and basketball in pre-k and kindergarten basketball that i always wanted to know a winner.
Rocky kids always got killed back when we played Pnut...its not everybody that plays 2nd graders against 7th graders haha. I think your last Pnut year mightve been my first
Not sure if there is a "Right" Answer
I have coached several differant youth sports and I think that the Playing Time issue really depends on the sport and level of the kid
Example in baseball/Softball a kid that is clueless Probably will not hurt themselfs and would require a freak accodent to get someone else hurt
In Football a clueless kid will probable end up getting someone messed up LOL
